Supply & Demand Conditions in the Labour Market for Certain Professional Therapists (March 2001)
This report aims to provide a comprehensive, quantitative assessment of the labour market for qualified personnel in the Therapy Healthcare sector. The three categories of professionals covered are Chartered Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech and Language Therapists. The situation is analysed in terms of the number of unfilled vacancies at present, the number of posts that would be created if services in Ireland reached objectively set targets, the number of additional places that will arise due to demographic and survival trends, and the number of new posts that will arise due to demands for an enhanced quality of health care services.PDF Report [256KB]
