
Divsional Manager, Science, Technology and Human Capital, Forfás

Since August 2008, Martin Shanahan has been Divisional Manager for Science, Technology and Human Capital in Forfás. Prior to this, Martin was Head of the Human Capital and Labour Market Policy Department in Forfás where he managed the work of the Expert Group on Future Skills Needs and the SME Management Development Council.
Martin previously worked with Fáilte Ireland - the National Tourism Development Authority and CERT - the State Tourism Training Agency. Prior to this, Martin held senior management posts in the tourism industry.
Martin holds a B.Sc. (Management) from the University of Dublin, Trinity College and an H.Dip (Hotel and Catering Management) and M.Sc (Hospitality Management) from Dublin Institute of Technology. Martin is a member of the National Qualifications Authority of Ireland, the Expert Group on Future Skills Needs, the High Level Implementation Group for the National Workplace Strategy, and the HEA Foresight Group for Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences.
